Millie-Anne Sumcad is a partner and founding member of the Law Offices of Schwerin and Sumcad. Having practiced U.S. Immigration and Nationality Law in California for more than 30 years, Ms. Sumcad was voted as one of the Top Immigration Attorneys in San Jose by San Jose Magazine. She has also been listed as one of the Best Lawyers in America for Immigration and Nationality Law in San Jose, CA. Ms. Sumcad received her Juris Doctorate from San Francisco Law School. She is a member of the California State Bar, the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), Northern California and Santa Clara Valley Chapters and a founding member of the Santa Clara Valley AILA Chapter. She has successfully filed employment-based petitions on behalf of public and private companies, including start-ups and local agencies interested in hiring professional, temporary, and permanent staff members. Ms. Sumcad has successfully filed citizenship applications and family-based petitions to keep family members together. She has written and edited immigration publications. Ms. Sumcad is an avid golfer.
Michael Charles Schwerin

Michael Charles Schwerin is a partner and founding member of the Law Offices of Schwerin and Sumcad. He holds a degree in Accounting from University of Illinois, Champaign, and passed the Illinois Certified Public Accountant examination. Mr. Schwerin received his Juris Doctorate from Santa Clara University School of Law. He is a member of the California State Bar, the Santa Clara County Bar Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Illinois CPA Society. Mr. Schwerin is a former Chair of the Santa Clara County Bar Association family law section. Having practiced family law in San Jose, CA for almost 30 years, Mr. Schwerin has served as an expert witness, temporary judge, private judge, special master, mediator, discovery referee and arbitrator in family law cases. When he's not practicing family law, Mr. Schwerin enjoys spending time on the golf course.
